In 1994, CHOPPING MALL director Jim Wynorski assembled a cast that included Linda Blair, Julie Strain, Larry Poindexter, Edward Albert, and Michael Parks to tell a story of sex and the occult called SORCERESS. Now Synapse Films has assembled what looks to be a great special edition DVD and Blu-ray release of that film, with plans to have it on shelves on June 14th.

Larry Barnes (Poindexter) is on the fast track to a partnership in a prestigious law firm, and his sexy witch wife Erica (Strain) will do anything to keep her husband happy. But Erica makes a fatal mistake when she tries to kill Larry's main competition for the partnership, Howard Reynolds (Albert). With Howard now crippled for life from Erica's dark magic, his wife Amelia (Blair) plots her revenge. Using witchcraft and a mystical medallion, Amelia tries to destroy everyone and everything in Larry's life! All the pleasures of the flesh and malevolence of black magic collide in this newly remastered and uncensored version of Jim Wynorski's SORCERESS (aka TEMPTRESS).

This "uncensored, director approved edition" is a 2K scan from the original uncut film element, meaning that it features – for the first time ever – sex scene footage and additional nudity that was deleted from the original mid-'90s release.

As if that weren't special feature enough, this edition also includes an audio commentary by Wynorski and a bonus commentary in which the director is joined by horror FX legend Tom Savini. Savini had nothing to do with SORCERESS, but the chat he has with Wynorski while they watch the movie together is said to be hilarious.

I have never seen SORCERESS, but this certainly sounds like a release that's worth picking up.
