I know what you guys have been asking yourselves: What’s been going on with Platinum Dunes’ OUIJA? Right? Right. How can you not be wondering where this project stands? We’ve known this shite is happening for months now but we really haven’t gotten many updates… Hell the last update it seems we got on the project came way back in November 2009! So where does this puppy stand today?
Apparently OUIJA is finally starting to step forward! You see according to the LA Times the film is eyeing TAKEN director Pierre Morel for the job! What? Seriously? Natch! Morel tore sh*t up with TAKEN and seeing him tackle a movie about the Ouija Board would be pretty intriguing, no? Now mind you Morel hasn’t been offered the job, nor are we sure he’s even interested, but the good word has Morel at the top of the wish-list. Talks are still in the early stages so here’s hoping Morel does eventually sign on!
OUIJA is being described as an action-adventure movie that takes certain rules of the game — never use it alone, never use it in a graveyard, always say good-bye — and figures them into the plot.
Now Morel has currently got his hands full with the DUNE reboot and there are other directors being talked to about the OUIJA directing job so don’t chisel anything into stone just yet! As always when we hear more regarding the project we’ll be sure to pass the news along to all of you!
