Tales of the Jedi: Bryce Dallas Howard reveals she’s voicing Yaddle for the Star Wars Disney+ series

Before the new Star Wars anthology series Tales of the Jedi comes to Disney+ on Wednesday, Bryce Dallas Howard is out here teasing fans about voicing the character Yaddle! On Tuesday, Howard teased fans with an image of Yaddle on social media, saying she’s thrilled to be providing the character’s voice for the new show. Yaddle is the same species as Yoda and Grogu and sports a shock of long auburn hair. She was a Jedi High Council member during the Galactic Republic’s final years and trained a Thisspiasian Padawan named Oppo Rancisis.

Howard’s casting is hardly a surprise, considering how involved the multi-talented filmmaker is with the Star Wars Universe. In the past, Howard directed multiple chapters of The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. The response to her episodes has been tremendous, with many Star Wars fans calling for Disney to assign Howard her own Star Wars movie for the silver screen or Disney+.

Despite her innocuous appearance, Yaddle is a powerful Jedi who is a master of the Jedi power morichro, an all-but-forgotten art that allows the user to manipulate their opponent’s bodily functions. If the enemy isn’t careful, morichro can be used to bring its victim to the brink of death or beyond.

As the title suggests, Tales of the Jedi will tell previously untold stories out of the Jedi lore, including a Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) installment following his tutelage by Count Dooku before the latter turned evil. It’s a shame Christopher Lee is no longer with us, but I’m sure they’ll cast someone exciting in his place.

Star Wars fans will learn more about Yaddle soon after Tales From the Jedi‘s October 26 premiere. The anthology series is part of Disney’s neverending slate of content from a galaxy far, far away. Grab your lightsaber, and let’s go!
