The anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere on AMC at 9pm on Sunday, August 14th. With that date quickly approaching, the network released an extended trailer for the show today, giving a glimpse of episodes that will star the likes of Terry Crews (The Expendables), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Olivia Munn (The Predator), Anthony Edwards (ER), Poppy Liu (Hacks), Jillian Bell (Rough Night), Daniella Pineda (Cowboy Bebop), Jessie T. Usher (The Boys), Danny Ramirez (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Loan Chabanol (Fading Gigolo), Embeth Davidtz (Army of Darkness), Gage Munroe (Nobody), and former The Walking Dead cast member Samantha Morton – who will be reprising the role of Alpha. The first season of Tales of the Walking Dead will consist of six episodes. Three of those episodes were directed by series producer and Walking Dead franchise veteran Michael Satrazemis, while Haifaa al-Mansour (Good Lord Bird), Deborah Kampmeier (Star Trek: Picard), and Tara Nicole Weyr (The Wilds) each directed one episode. Satrazemis says the episodes are “short, concise little films that have a beginning and an end. They’re more theatrical.”

Executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of the Walking Dead Universe, and showrunner Channing Powell, who has been a writer and producer on The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking DeadTales of the Walking Dead is an

episodic anthology of six original, standalone stories focused on both new and established characters within the walker apocalypse.

AMC+ subscribers will get the watch the first two episodes on August 14th, and all remaining episodes hit the streaming service one week early starting on August 21st.

Tales of the Walking Dead is looking to me like it could be quite entertaining. I’m definitely going to be watching all six episodes. Will you be watching this show? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
