A couple days back, we told you about some of Tartan‘s fall releases. Problem was, we didn’t have any artwork or extras to speak of. DVDActive to the rescue!
Okay, so extras were still missing, but at least the artwork is up, including a quote from Arrow himself for Kelvin Tong’s THE MAID, which is set for September 12th. SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE‘s artwork is your typical headshot, but those are some gorgeous eyes that Yeong-ae Lee (Lady V) is sporting. One release we didn’t tell you about was the Romanian black comedy THE DEATH OF MR. LAZARESCU, directed and written by Cristi Puiu. As you can see, the film goes highly reccommended. The story revolves around Mr. Lazarescu, a 63 year old lonely man who feels sick and calls the ambulance. When it arrives the doctor decides the man should be taken to the hospital, but once there they decide to send him to another hospital and then yet another… As the night unfolds and they can’t find a hospital for Mr. Lazarescu, his health starts to deteriorate fast. Man, that’s cruel, but considering all the weird shite that’s in this world, it probably happened at some point.
As with the other releases Tartan announced, no extras are listed at the moment, save for the initial specs (anamorphic widescreen, Romanian Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks, English subtitles, theatrical trailer and trailers for other Tartan releases). Keep an eye out for these puppies.
