The crew over at Modernciné, the production company responsible for such horrors as THE GIRL NEXT DOOR and the Sundance controversy-stirrer THE WOMAN, has got its sights set on its next project: an adaptation of the Brian Keene novel THE GHOUL.

The book’s synopsis:
No one believes Timmy when he tells them he and his friends discovered a ghoul eating the dead in a local cemetery; but when the ghoul starts attacking the living as well as the dead, Timmy realizes it’s up to him and his friends to stop it.

Catherine Mary Stewart, who I must admit made watching NIGHT OF THE COMET a lot easier when I was a young one, will star in the film. The actress had the following to say to Fangoria: “When I read the GHOUL script, it really grabbed me; these little kids are disappearing, and some adults too, and you don’t know why, and the buildup is terrifying until you finally figure out what’s going on.”

Shooting will begin next month in Louisiana, with Gregory Wilson (THE GIRL NEXT DOOR) directing. Read a few more comments from Ms. Stewart right HERE.
