Teaser offers a zombie-filled look at Fear the Walking Dead season 3

The third season of The Walking Dead's sister series Fear the Walking Dead is shambling its way to AMC airwaves and is now less than two weeks away from making its debut. To help viewers prepare and get hyped for the return of the fractured family at the heart of the show, AMC has released a new teaser, which can be seen below.

The tagline for this season is "Face What You Fear, Fear What You Become", and I can think of no better tagline for this show than "Fear What You Become", because its core characters have so far proven to be the true monsters at work here. We'll have to wait and see if they continue to be so terrible in season three.

As Fear the Walking Dead returns for season three, our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the U.S.-Mexico border.  International lines done away with following the world’s end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Madison's son mere miles from his mother, Nick’s (Frank Dillane) first action as a leader saw Luciana (Danay Garcia) ambushed by an American militia group — the couple escaped death, but Nick no longer feels immortal.  Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand (Colman Domingo) has his sights set on harnessing the new world’s currency, and Ofelia's (Mercedes Mason) captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.

This season will be the last one for showrunner Dave Erickson, who will be replaced by Ian Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss when Fear the Walking Dead returns for a fourth season next year. Erickson chose to step down from the position and hasn't had any conversations with his replacements about where the show will be heading in the future, as he thinks it's best to have a "clean break".

Given how troublesome and frustrating I have found Fear the Walking Dead to be, the behind-the-scenes shake-up makes me more enthusiastic about season four than I currently am for season three, but Erickson says that "The work we're doing this season is the best we've done." 

I have my issues with the show, but I will be tuning in to AMC for the season three premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on June 4th.
