Teaser released for Clive Barker’s Books of Blood, coming to Hulu in October

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In the mid-'80s, Clive Barker published six volumes of short horror stories under the Books of Blood banner, and now some of the stories from those volumes are being brought to the screen in the anthology film BOOKS OF BLOOD, which is set to premiere on the Hulu streaming service October 7th. In anticipation of the Halloween season release, Hulu has put a short teaser trailer online. It can be seen in the embed above.

Directed by Brannon Braga, who also wrote the segments with Adam Simon, BOOKS OF BLOOD will take viewers on

a journey into uncharted and forbidden territory through three tales tangled in space and time.

The film stars Anna Friel, Britt Robertson, Rafi Gavron, Yul Vasquez, Andy McQueen, Freda Foh Shen, and Nicholas Campbell.

Braga and Simon both served as executive producers alongside Seth MacFarlane, Erica Huggins, Alana Kleiman, Brian Witten, Jeff Kwatinetz, Josh Barry, and Barker. Mark Miller co-executive produced, with Joe Micucci, Jason Clark, and Michael Mahoney producing.

The teaser doesn't give a whole lot to go on, but all I needed to hear to be interested in BOOKS OF BLOOD were the names Clive Barker and Anna Friel.

Stories from Barker's Books of Blood previously served as the basis for RAWHEAD REX, CANDYMAN, LORD OF ILLUSIONS, MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, 2008's BOOK OF BLOOD, DREAD, an episode of Tales from the Darkside, and a segment of the anthology film QUICKSILVER HIGHWAY.
