Another Spanish found footage flick is on its way, this one titled BASERCA. It’s posed a documentary of footage released by authorities and aired on television in order to get citizens involved in the case. The film deals with a group of friends who are stuck in a mansion with a pair of psychopaths.
Below you will find a teaser trailer for the flick, along with with a clip, which appears to be an alternate ending. It doesn’t give anything away – given that it’s alternate – but it looks kind of creepy. No subtitles are available, unfortunately, but I think they videos pretty effect regardless.
In Spring 2010, a group of eight young people disappeared in the valley of Baserca, a province of Lleida. The news caused a local uproar and the authorities investigated the case with discretion. With no clues to the culprits, they decide to seek help from the media. Five months later, the program “L’Empremta” will air the chilling facts in a documentary. It’s time the legend became reality, but with a chilling argument that differs significantly from the original legend.
The film is directed by Víctor Masip and Pep Bernadó. It stars Núria Castells, David Guàrdia and Pau Prieto, Lluís Niubó, Marc Montserrat, Olaf Cases, Mireia casado, Gemma Castells, Gemma Amorós, Fran Balañá, Molina de la Barretina, Silvia Pastells and Bibiana Hinojosa. Audivio Productions will release the picture in July.
