Terminator 5 picks up steam as new screenwriters are hired

JoBloJoBlo

Alright everybody, I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is THE TERMINATOR franchise is looking more and more likely to get a fifth entry that involves Arnold Schwarzenegger. The bad news is the screenwriters have been hired and they aren’t exactly superstars. Well, one of them is.

Deadline is reporting that Laeta Kalogridis And Patrick Lussier will be writing the script for TERMINATOR 5. Kalogridis is the more accoomplished writer of the two having written AVATAR, SHUTTER ISLAND, and ALEXANDER. Lussier wrote the screenplay for DRACULA 2000 and MY BLOODY VALENTINE. Nothing says this pair cannot knock out a badass TERMINATOR screenplay, but the odds don’t look good.

But, if you think about it, Kalogridis has a connection with James Cameron. Maybe that will be a good in to try and have the man who invented THE TERMINATOR franchise give his blessing to a new movie. Either way, Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures is looking more and more solid with every move they make.

What do you think of this TERMINATOR news?
