Terminator franchise fan-edit tells the complete history of Kyle Reese

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

YouTuber Josh Nitsche has posted a 76 minute video called TERMINATOR: THE DARK YEARS (A FUTURE WAR STORY), and it's such an interesting project that we decided to share it here on Arrow in the Head.

As Nitsche describes it, THE DARK YEARS is a fan-edit telling the complete story of Kyle Reese leading up to the events of the first TERMINATOR movie. In this story,

John and the resistance will have to defeat the T-800, T-1000, T-X, T-3000, Harvesters, Rev-9, and several others.

I've added blood to several scenes to return the series to its horror roots, and give the film a bleak tone. The intention of this project is to create something nostalgic, yet new.  I hope to appeal to every Terminator fan.

Nitsche crafted this story using footage from the entire TERMINATOR franchise, "including films, tv shows, games, and even theme-park attractions". THE DARK YEARS features footage and audio from

The Terminator (84)
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (92)
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (03)
Terminator Salvation (09)
Terminator Genisys (15)
Terminator Dark Fate (19)
The Sarah Connor Chronicles (09)
Tech-Com 2029
Terminator 3: The Redemption Game
Terminator: Dawn of Fate Game
Terminator Genisys Future War Game
Terminator Salvation The Game
