Don’t get excited; there’s no solid news on the progress of TERMINATOR 5 at the moment… but perhaps this little morsel can hold you over until the project moves forward.

Fansite The Terminator Fans took to Twitter to tell Megan Ellison – founder of production company Annapurna Films and owner of the rights to the TERMINATOR franchise – that they, quote, “hope you can bring this franchise back from the brink of PG-13 HELL.” Ellison’s response: “We can’t really tell you guys anything about Terminator BUT it will be an R rated film as God and James Cameron intended.”

Obviously, this is but a mere tweet, and shouldn’t be taken as the gospel. Hell, the project hasn’t even been greenlit yet. (The last update we got on T5 was that Justin Lin had to abandon the director’s chair.) But one should be encouraged when it’s clear that the future producer of the film knows what the fans want. At the very least, she certainly knows what they want to hear.
