Texas Chainsaw Massacre to get the biopic treatment

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

So this sounds fun! Deadline reports that the book Chain Saw Confidential: How We Made the World’s Most Notorious Horror Movie by author Gunnar Hansen – about the making of Tobe Hooper's cult classic exploitation horror flick Texas Chainsaw Massacre – will be developed into a biopic as a "dark comedy".

Here's the official description:

Hansen’s book has been adapted by David Dubos, and purports to bring to the screen all the fun, horror and craziness from the making of the original seminal 1974 Tobe Hooper-directed horror film that cost $140,000 and grossed north of $30 million, spawning knock offs and numerous noisy and bloodier franchise extensions.

No official start or release date as of yet, but we'll keep you posted!

So what do you guys think? Would you be down to see a film about the making of Texas Chainsaw Massacre? Either way, sound off below!
