Thandie Newton in talks to join the Han Solo spin-off

Thandie Newton Star Wars Han Solo

Production on the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM kicked off less than two weeks ago, but it seems that there are still a few more roles to fill as Variety has reported that Thandie Newton is currently in talks to join the upcoming STAR WARS spinoff.

Naturally, nothing of any substance has been revealed as to which character Thandie Newton would be playing, but those of you who have seen the actress kick some ass as Maeve on HBO's Westworld know that she would almost assuredly be an asset to the Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed film. Should negotiations with Newton go forward, she would be joining Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson in the STAR WARS spinoff. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) is also being eyed for a role which is said to be a CGI character who will be a "significant part of the ensemble, similar to key Star Wars characters in the past like Chewbacca, C-3P0 and most recently, Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO in “Rogue One."

The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM is set to hit theaters on May 25, 2018, but there have been rumours that it will be pushed back to December.
