While what I’m about to say was revealed last night on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE!, I personally wish I didn’t know about this before seeing the movie (one of the downsides of doing film news). So SPOILERS from here on out!
Anyway, Kimmel unveiled a clip that reveals the action of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 will eventually reach Earth. Now, it makes sense that the action would eventually come here, because of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, but still – I’d rather have found out sitting in the theater eating McDonald’s (because I’ve worked at theaters, I don’t trust theater food) rather than on a YouTube clip.
So, without further ado, here’s the offending clip:
Man, that blue blob effect (whatever it is) look so bad – like fuckin’ Parallax from GREEN LANTERN bad. I mean, Marvel – and especially James Gunn – have earned by benefit of the doubt at this point, so I’m sure in context it’ll be fine. But out of it? Oof.
Either way, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will guard theaters May 5th, 2017.
