The American Horror Story: Hotel title sequence has checked in

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

American Horror Story: Hotel is rarin' to go next week, and the newest promo they dropped is the big'un. That's right, the full main title sequence of the fifth season is now online for your viewing pleasure. It's not the best in the series, but it continues the tradition of inevitably being the creepiest part of the show. A new addition to this clip is a searing neon rendition of the Ten Commandments, which is the first (and hopefully last) religious affiliation the season has shown so far.

The show has tackled religious influences before with the demonic possession in Asylum, but when Lady Gaga and spirituality get together, the result is always profoundly messy. But since when has the title sequence had anything to do with the show? One can only wait, hope, and watch. Check out the new title sequence below!

In the first episode, titled "Checkin In":

Detective and family man John Lowe (Wes Bentley) investigates a chain of gruesome murders in Los Angeles. A mysterious tip points him to the enigmatic Hotel Cortez.

Premiering October 7th on FX, the new season of American Horror Story stars Lady Gaga, Denis O'Hare, Evan Peters, Matt Bomer, Finn Wittrock, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield, Lily Rabe, Naomi Campbell, Madchen Amick, Darren Criss, and Chloe Sevigny.
