So how are you guys feeling about Todd Lincoln’s THE APPARITION? Previously compared to FLATLINERS, THE APPARITION is sporting a decent cast with the recent release of some amazing stills. By that I mean stills with star Ashley Greene looking exceptionally gorgeous. It’s hard not to jump on board this flick after seeing those, right? Hard… Get it? .. Anyway.
Today we’ve got another name from the flick comparing THE APPARITION to other horror films. This time it’s Sebastian Stan talking up the film, comparing it to the likes of POLTERGEIST, THE STRANGERS and THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Yeah, you read that right. According to Stan THE APPARITION is POLETERGEIST meets THE STRANGERS meets TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE…. Damn… I can barely even comprehend that.
“To me, it was a mixture of “The Strangers” and “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and “Poltergeist.” Todd [Lincoln] had a huge list of movies he wanted us to watch. We saw how horror was done in the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s into today. It’s definitely more psychological than just “get scared!” ….. As an audience, you’re trying to figure out if something is happening or if you’re a witness in somebody’s dark thoughts. “
