The Arrow in the Head Show gives The Fly II (1989) its dues!

A new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show has just been released, and in this one hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are revisiting the 1989 body horror sequel The Fly II (watch it HERE). To find out what they had to say about this story of a boy becoming a fly – the latest in a long line of people becoming flies in this franchise – check out the video embedded above!

The Fly franchise began with a short story written by George Langelaan. That story served as a basis for a film that was released in 1958 and spawned two sequels: Return of the Fly (1959) and Curse of the Fly (1965). David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of The Fly is one of the most popular remakes ever made, and it was soon followed by The Fly II. Directed by Chris Walas from a screenplay by Mick Garris, Frank Darabont, Jim Wheat, and Ken Wheat, The Fly II has the following synopsis: Anton Bartok, the CEO of a research laboratory, acts as the self-appointed guardian of orphan Martin Brundle, whose father had been a researcher at the lab. Though Martin is scarcely five, he has the appearance of a 20-year-old because of mutant insectoid genes in his system. Martin grows up confined to the laboratory, unaware of his true nature, with only pretty scientist Beth Logan to call a friend. Soon, the fly within begins to emerge.

The film stars Eric Stoltz, Daphne Zuniga, Lee Richardson, Garry Chalk, Ann Marie Lee, Frank Turner, John Getz, and Harley Cross.

Here’s some information on The Arrow in the Head ShowWe’re trying something a bit new here on Arrow In The Head. After many years behind the scenes, we’ve decided to take our sarcastic, booze-influenced style into the video age with The Arrow In The Head Show! Hosted by John Fallon aka The Arrow and Lance Vlcek, we will dig into not only the newest horror flicks hitting the big and small screens but also delve into the good, bad, and ugly of horror from the golden ages of the ’80s through the underrated 90s and maybe a bit beyond.

Something groovy and a tad rough around the edges, we are here to talk shop with a drink in hand, a bit of foul language, and a whole lot of heart.
