Director Lewis-Martin Soucy, Producer Rose-Marie Couture and Moroccan-based production company H-Films are embarking on a terrifying tale about a killer creature and the people who struggle to survive it with LA BETE (or, THE BEAST).

Described as “a classic, suspenseful horror film with a mysterious, threatening creature”, the flick has the following synopsis: At the dawn of the summer, four young surfers in a jeep and a family in their camping caravan take the same road to Morocco. They both happen to stop for a break on the way at a resting place isolated in the heart of the desert. Rapidly night falls, the vehicles won’t start, and a strange, invisible creature terrorizes and attacks them savagely, using a dangerous escaped psychopath to get to them. With the help of a mysterious Berber, only the strongest of them will survive this nightmare…

The film has actually been in the works for some time (the promo poster you see is from a few years ago) but only now is it getting ready to roll. Shooting will go down in Morocco in 2012 with a cast that includes French actors Marc Andreoni, Julien Oliveri and Jean-Christophe Bouvet as well as Moroccan actors Mourad Zaoui and Khalid Maadour and well-known local musician Younes Megri.

We’ll keep you updated as we get more info.
