The first season of The Boys, Amazon's TV show based on the comic-series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, premiered on Amazon Prime Video just two weeks ago and the celebrated series has already become one of the streaming networks most watched shows.

While Amazon didn't release specific numbers, Amazon Studios CEO Jennifer Salke said the following in a statement: "We are thrilled that The Boys has surpassed our predictions for viewing in its first two weeks, and has become one of our most watched Amazon Original series by our Prime Video customers. This creates great momentum and excitement for us as we get ready for season two." As Amazon had already renewed The Boys for a second before the first even premiered, this must be great confirmation of their confidence in the series. The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke added, "I'm so beyond thrilled with the response to Season 1. And mainly, it’s made me get my ass in gear and work even harder on Season 2. I don’t want Season 2 to go bigger, I want it to go deeper. A more intense, more insane, more wrenching, more character-driven season. It’s my one and only goal to make Season 2 even better than Season 1." Kripke previously revealed that they're already in the midst of shooting season two and that he's breaking the second season finale. Were you one of those who helped to turn The Boys into one of Amazon's most watched series?

The Boys takes place in an America where the planet's superheroes have been morally corrupted by their celebrity status and often take advantage of their powers in reckless displays of behavior which threaten the safety of the world. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) runs a group of vigilantes known as The Boys, who do what they can to keep watch over the superheroes, and, if need be, eliminate them. The Boys is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, so be sure to check out a review from our own Alex Maidy as well as our interviews with Karl Urban, Elisabeth Shue, Antony Starr, Karen Fukuhara, Chace Crawford, and Laz Alonso
