When STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS hit theaters and underwhelmed audiences everywhere, most didn’t expect much from the show when it would eventually find its home on Cartoon Network. Thankfully, the writers really hit their stride and the show became a welcome part of the Star Wars canon. They took prequel characters and fleshed them out to a degree unseen in Episodes I, II and III. Unfortunately, The Clone Wars was also one of the first to go once Disney acquired the rights from George Lucas. If you were wondering what might have been next in-store for some of those characters, StarWars.com released a nifty video showcasing several story arcs that have come to fruition in one way or another.

Check ’em out:

I never got around to finishing of The Clone Wars (all in due time, younglings) but I’m always down for other people’s ideas and visions for the Star Wars universe. That alone is reason enough to be excited for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and beyond. If anything, now that Disney has the rights to the OT, I can’t imagine a Blu-ray release of the theatrical Star Wars movies are too far behind. As long as we can get what everyone grew up with, Abrams can go lens flare crazy for all I care! Okay, not really, but seriously Disney, get on those Blu-rays!

For your next dose of animated Star Wars, Rebels is set to premiere on the Disney channel on October 3, 2014.
