Start preparing for THE COUP, as the intense-sounding thriller has just received a release date. The Weinstein Company, which picked up the John Erick Dowdle-directed film at Cannes last month, has slapped it with a March 6, 2015 date. Knowing the Weinstein’s proclivity to change their schedule, you should write that down in pencil, not pen.

THE COUP stars Owen Wilson, Lake Bell and Pierce Brosnan. Here’s the basic synopsis:

THE COUP follows an American family living in Southeast Asia who get caught in the middle of a violent revolution. They must flee to safety while being hunted by a murderous rebel leader.

John Erick Dowdle and his brother Drew previously directed QUARANTINE and DEVIL. They have AS ABOVE, SO BELOW coming out this August.
