About fourteen months ago, it was announced that a revival of the Dan Curtis cult classic genre soap opera Dark Shadows was in the works at The CW, with Mark B. Perry writing the pilot script. Titled either Dark Shadows: Reincarnation or Dark Shadows: Resurrections, this show was meant to be
a modern-day continuation of the strange, terrifying, and sexy saga of the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine — a mysterious, influential, publicity-shy group hiding a ghastly secret: For the past 400 years, they’ve lived under a curse that bedevils their blue blood with every imaginable supernatural creature and horror.

Dark Shadows fans might have noticed that there has been a lack of updates on the project since that announcement was made, and apparently that's because it didn't make much progress before The CW gave up on it. TVLine reports that the show
never made it to the pilot stage and at this point is no longer in development at The CW.
It seems a shame that the show isn't moving forward, because Perry was a huge fan of the original series, which ran from 1966 to 1971, and his ideas had the full support of Curtis's children. Tracy Curtis and Cathy Curtis were going to executive produce the new Dark Shadows with Perry, Michael Helfant, Bradley Gallo, and Tracy Mercer.
