THE DARK KNIGHT built up its anticipation and excitement with a hugely successful viral campaign, on the scale that we had not seen before. If you thought that THE DARK KNIGHT wasn’t going to follow suit, then you sir have been a fool! The viral campaign has begun!
Wired and Empire both received ‘CIA documents’ with no context or reason. But that context and reason is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and it signals that the viral campaign is officially underway. What do these documents mean? No idea, but on the grand scale of things I am sure they will become apparent. The prologue to the film will premiere next week ahead of specific IMAX screenings of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL, whether that will shed any light on these documents remains to be seen.
