Talk about a gloomy bunch! Entertainment Weekly has premiered the first official photo from the set of Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS, which you can see above. (Click on it to see a slightly bigger version.) Depicting the bloodsucking Collins crew, this picture was apparently taken one day before the official start of production. I suppose any concerns we might have had after the first odd pictures of Johnny Depp as “Barnabus Collins” can be put to rest now, as he’s doesn’t nearly resemble the odd combo of Willy Wonka and Michael Jackson as he did then.

“I remember seeing a group photograph of the cast of the original series,” Tim Burton tells EW. “For me it captured the weird Dark Shadows vibe in a single image. I had a brief window of opportunity to have our cast present at the same time, the day before principle photography began. We decided to stage a similar picture instead of rehearsing, to see if we captured the Dark Shadows feeling.”
