It feels like I just got finished telling you guys about new casting on Atom Egoyan’s THE DEVIL’S KNOT. Oh right, that’s because I did! It was only a couple days ago I was telling you about Kevin Durand’s addition to the flick and now I’m here to let you all know another TV star will be joining the party.
According to Deadline Hollywood the latest to join the big screen telling of the West Memphis Three is none other than “True Blood” vet Stephen Moyer! That’s right folks, ‘Vampire Bill’ himself! You see, not only is Moyer (above) joining the film, but he actually scored one of the key roles – prosecutor John Fogelman.
The film is based on journalist Mara Leveritt’s book and follows follows private detective Ron Lax, who took on the West Memphis Three case pro bono. He found DNA evidence linking Terry Hobbs, the stepfather of one of the three murdered boys, to material that was used to bind one of the victims — evidence that helped convince a judge to release James Baldwin, Jessie Misskelley Jr. and Damien Echols last year.
Along with Moyer and Durand THE DEVIL’S KNOT also stars Reese Witherspoon, Colin Firth, Bruce Greenwood, Michael Gladis, Seth Meriwether, Matt Letscher, Mireille Enos, Alessandro Nivola, Kristopher Higgins and James Hamrick. Man I really wasn’t expecting this thing to be this big… but I’m digging it!
Apparently Moyer will begin work on THE DEVIL’S KNOT immediately to fit into his “True Blood” schedule so it looks like this thing is filming now! Know what that means right? More updates soon!
