Star Trek Beyond new trailer Karl Urban Zachary Quinto Chris Pine

Many trekkies, myself included, were left feeling a little underwhelmed by the first trailer for STAR TREK BEYOND. Its focus on action as well as its Beastie Boys soundtrack didn't feel all that much like Star Trek, but it didn't take long for various members of the cast and crew to assure fans that there's definitely more to the film than just pure action. It's been a long wait for the second trailer, but that wait is finally over as the newest STAR TREK BEYOND trailer has just premiered at a fan-event on the Paramount Studios lot. Is it an improvement over the first? You'll have to watch and find out.

Speaking just for myself, that was a big improvement. I'm feeling quite excited about the film now. In addition to this new trailer, the STAR TREK BEYOND event included an exclusive first-look of never before seen footage from film as well as a Q&A with STAR TREK BEYOND director Justin Lin and the cast and crew. Our own JimmyO was lucky enough to be present at the event and you can look forward to hearing all the juicy details from him a little later.

STAR TREK BEYOND will hit theaters on July 22, 2016.
