The first Django Unchained reviews are in via Twitter – what do people think in 140 characters or less?!

Quentin Tarantino’s latest homage opus hits in less than a month, and advance word has already started to trickle out of Hollywood after a recent screening for critics and industry professionals.

Can you guess what that word is?

If “wildly positive” was what popped into your mind, then you’d be very right.  Not that anyone is exactly surprised by such a turn of events.  While the full reviews are under embargo, the initial impressions shared via Twitter highlight Tarantino’s balancing of humor, action, and the darker subject matter along with the performance of Christoph Waltz in particular.  Writer/director Rian Johnson (LOOPER) gives a special shout out to Leonardo DiCaprio’s portrayal of the villainous Calvin Candie, and all in all I think it’s safe to say we’re in for a hell of a time come Christmas Day.
