It’s been a hot minute since we’ve seen or heard anything about The Flash beyond Miller’s extremely questionable off-set behavior. However, The Flash director Andy Muschietti shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the Scarlet Speedster’s long-gestating solo adventure on Monday, giving fans a look at the hero’s stomping grounds, Central City.
In Muschietti’s behind-the-scenes image, the director is standing on a Central City street, holding a lightning bolt ornament. On the road, sewers emit steam as the vapors brush against walls sporadically covered with graffiti. A pizza joint still makes pies while glowing neon lights obscure other storefronts. A comment for the photo reads: “We are bringing the lightning soon.”
Is Muschietti teasing a trailer drop for The Flash? Rumor suggests a full trailer for The Flash will debut during Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, February 12, but we’re still waiting for confirmation.
According to Variety, a recent report investigating the mediocre performance of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam suggest Miller could still have a future as Barry Allen in the DCEU restructuring. Insiders say Miller could remain in the role provided the actor stays out of trouble and agrees to attend mental health seminars in the summer. These terms are likely due to The Flash testing well with audiences in preview screenings. One report claims Muschietti’s film tested “through the roof,” and that it’s as good as Spider-Man: No Way Home. This comment is a bold claim, but I’ve not seen the preview. For all I know, The Flash is fantastic, and we’re all in for the ride of a lifetime.
