Entrusting your life to a stranger, regardless of whether or not they have a medical degree, can be nerve-racking at best. More often than not, you’re in a state of distress and are left with little choice but to apply blind faith to those tasked with your well-being. In Netflix‘s The Good Nurse trailer, a woman discovers that a co-worker could be responsible for a series of deaths that present a disturbing pattern in malpractice.

Tobias Lindholm (A WarA HighjackingMindhunter) directs from a screenplay by Krysty Wilson-Cairns. Based on a novel by Charles Graeber, The Good Nurse presents a terrifying tale of misguided trust, false friendship, and deception that often yields deadly results. Inspired by actual events, The Good Nurse trailer will send shivers up your spine and make you think twice before signing any waivers during your next hospital stay.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Good Nurse:

Amy, a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. But help arrives when Charlie, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit. While sharing long nights at the hospital, the two develop a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly has faith in her and her young daughters’ future. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth.

Academy Award-winning actors Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne star as Amy and Charlie, respectively, alongside Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich, and Kim Dickens.

In addition to the trailer, Netflix shared key art for The Good Nurse, arriving in select theaters on October 19 and on Netflix on October 26.
