The Haunting of Hill House’s Carla Gugino might appear in Bly Manor season

The Haunting of Hill House Carla Gugino Mike Flanagan

Last year, Mike Flanagan took the helm of a ten episode Netflix series inspired by the 1959 Shirley Jackson novel The Haunting of Hill House. There is going to be a second season of the show, but it's taking an anthology approach, keeping only the "The Haunting of" part of the title and moving to another location, where a different story will be told with new characters.

The second season is called The Haunting of Bly Manor, and it's inspired by Henry James' 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw, which tells the story of

a governess hired to look after a pair of siblings. However, several ghosts around their manor house exhibit a supernatural hold over the children.

As The Haunting of Bly Manor moves forward, it's starting to sound like the anthology style of this show will allow actors from one season to come back in different roles in another season, as happens all the time on American Horror Story.

When asked if he would be in Bly Manor, Hill House cast member Oliver Jackson-Cohen said,

I will get shot if I ever answer that question. I would love to answer that question. All I can say is that ‘Bly Manor’ is going to be incredible. It’s a very, very exciting story, from what I’ve heard."

Now his Hill House co-star Carla Gugino has admitted that she has been talking to Flanagan about working together again on Bly Manor:

We’re talking a lot about it and we’ll just see if all schedules allow. All I can say is I’m very excited for Season 2 and to see what Mike does."

Gugino also starred in Flanagan's Stephen King adaptation GERALD'S GAME.

I still need to watch the Hill House season of the show, but as a fan of Gugino's I'm glad to hear there's a possibility she may show up at Bly Manor as well.
