The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power trailer gives us our first look at the characters from Númenor

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be making an appearance at next week’s San Diego Comic-Con, and as a bit of a tease to what they will be offering there, the highly anticipated Prime Video series has released a new Rings of Power trailer that gives us our first look at the characters from Númenor.

The characters we catch a glimpse of are Isildur (Maxim Baldry), Elendil (Lloyd Owen), Pharazôn (Trystan Gravelle), Queen Regent Míriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), Kemen (Leon Wadham), and Eärien (Ema Horvath). In addition to the characters, the two-minute, 30-second trailer also gives J.R.R. Tolkien fans a look at some of the realms that will be showcased during the eight-part series, including the Elven realms of Lindon and Eregion, the Dwarven realm Khazad-dûm, the Southlands, the Northernmost Wastes, the Sundering Seas, and the island kingdom of Númenór.

The ambitious new series has even more characters on deck that will shape this sprawling epic that Prime Video hopes to make their very own Game of Thrones. The show will also feature characters such as Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), Elrond (Robert Aramayo), High King Gil-galad (Benjamin Walker), the Harfoots Marigold Brandyfoot (Sara Zwangobani), Elanor ‘Nori’ Brandyfoot (Markella Kavenagh), Poppy Proudfellow (Megan Richards) and Sadoc Burrows (Sir Lenny Henry), The Stranger (Daniel Weyman), the Dwarves King Durin III (Peter Mullan) and Prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur), Halbrand (Charlie Vickers), and Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova).

If you’re headed to San Diego Comic-Con next week, a panel featuring showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay and the stars of the show will be held at 10:30 AM PST on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Hall H. This is bound to be one of the panels that will have fans talking over the long weekend.

Did YOU like the Rings of Power trailer? Prime Video will launch The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on Friday, September 2, 2022. New episodes will then drop weekly.
