With New Line Cinema gearing up to release the horror film Lee Cronin’s The Mummy on April 17th, The Asylum is giving a digital release to their mockbuster The Mummy (formerly known as The Mummy: Bride of the Dead). You can watch the trailer in the embed above. The release date is today, April 3rd.

Cast and Synopsis

The feature directorial debut of writer/director Maurice Chauvet, whose previous writing credits include the 2005 action comedy The Basement and the 2003 crime thriller Owning Mahowny, this take on The Mummy has the following synopsis: An Egyptologist in possession of a haunted Bride of the Dead amulet is the target of a tech billionaire who believes the ancient Egyptian mummy artifact holds forbidden magic that could awaken a deadly mummy curse and unlock eternal life.

The film stars Jon Jacobs (Passenger C), Lisa Zane (Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare), newcomer Apoorva Mittra, Siena Goines (Basic Psych), Sheba Jade (Lost Angelas), Jack Topalian (Duster), Andrew Gonzalez (For All Mankind), Kevin McCorkle (The Amazing Spider-Man), Michael Gallagher (Blast from the Past), Lindsay Brooke Davis (The Caretaker), Cheri Moon (A Christmas Reunion), Michael Kastenbaum (In a Dark Place), Andrea Mia (Lani-Loa), Verity Van Dams (The Late Night Creep), Laura Maccabee (The Wedding Invitation), newcomer Jeffrey J.
