While no one can out-do Michael Biehn as Kyle Reese in THE TERMINATOR, it was inevitable that McG would have to cast another fellow to play the father of the world’s future in the upcoming TERMINATOR 4 (a flick with no ‘official’ title at the moment).
Are you ready for this? According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anton Yelchin is in negotiations to play the younger version of Reese in the film (which apparently doesn’t take place as far into the future as the future of the first TERMINATOR film). Yelchin? Seriously? This guy doesn’t scream ‘badass’ to me in any way, shape, or form! Plus, this guy’s the dad of John Connor aka Christian Bale? Please…
Yelchin as ‘teen Reese’ is one of the few to survive the war against the machines. In the flick, he makes friends with an early T-800 series named Marcus, played by Sam Worthington. Reese friends with a Terminator? This is starting to sound a little ridiculous…
Production is set to begin this May, though they’re still tinkering with the script to make it just right. If Reese is in tight with a T-800, I’d say there’s a lot to re-write in there! Stick around for more on T4 as it hits!
