The new Wild Geese

JoBloJoBlo

Grab your Sten submachinegun and a bottle of decent Scotch — the WILD GEESE are coming back.

A remake of the 1978 action flick is in the works from Hollywood Gang, some of the folks who make 300 such a sweat-slicked sanguine success. The original tough-guy flick followed a group of shady British mercenaries hired to depose a ruthless dictator in Africa with profuse quantities of booze and bullets.

The flick starred perennial drunkard Richard Burton, along with Richard Harris and Roger Moore (probably – and sadly – known to the current generation as Dumbledore and “the prissy Bond”, respectively). The plan is to keep the remake set in “the murky London underworld”, so expect the filmmakers to chase the current crop of Brit ruffians like Jason Statham, Sean Bean and Vinnie Jones.
