Ladies and gentlemen, Jeff Bridges, is back! Feeling better than ever after being diagnosed with Lymphoma in 2020, Bridges is back in fighting form for his first TV series in nearly 50 years. Based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, The Old Man trailer features Bridges in a physically demanding role that proves just how far he’s come since beating the Big C.

The Old Man follows CIA operative Dan Chase (Bridges), a man forced to reconcile his past after an assassin makes it his mission to take him out. In addition to Bridges, the series also stars John Lithgow, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Amy Brenneman.

The Old Man trailer is doing my heart good. Bridges is one of my favorite actors of all time, and it’s nice to see him kicking ass and taking names. The series looks like a fantastic opportunity to remind everyone how captivating Bridges can be, especially when given an episodic assignment such as this. It surprises me that Bridges would take on such a physically demanding role after his health issues, though I suppose that you can do pretty much anything once you’ve defeated cancer.

The Old Man, created by Robert Levine and Jonathan E. Steinberg, with an executive producer credit from Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts, is slated to debut the first two of its seven episodes on June 16, 2022, on FX. It will be followed by a release on Hulu a day later, and it will soon be available on Star+ in Latin America and Disney+ under the Star banner in all other territories.
