The Omen prequel being developed at Disney by The Conjuring writers?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So apprently there's a THE OMEN prequel in development at Disney, according to the screenwriters of THE CONJURING series – Chad and Carey W. Hayes. They confirmed in an interview with Comicbook.com that they had been working on THE OMEN project for 20th Century Fox, which got shuffled to Disney during the merger, and that it might even be going into production.

Here's a snippet of that interview:

We did the prequel to The Omen, which is also sitting over at Fox, that, rumor has it, that it is going into production. So we’ll see what happens. We get to tell you where Damien came from. It was really fun.

Look, this sounds like something I'm personally far from being interested in, as I don't really care where monsters come from (it can take away from the mystique). Also, being named "Damion", I have a sort of personal grudge against the franchise that's not entirely its fault. But like with the recent announcement of the "ROBOCOP-without-RoboCop series" yesterday, there's a possibility it could be done right, so I'm certainly willing to give it a chance, if the trailer and reviews are good.

But what do you guys think? Fans of the original? If so, how would you feel about a prequel? Either way, sound off below!
