While Netflix is often guilty of canceling quality shows, they’re doing something right today by renewing The Recruit for another season. The series hails from Entertainment One, Alex Hawley, and Hypnotic and stars Noah Centineo as Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer involved in massive international conflicts after digging too deep into matters beyond his station. The Recruit Season 2 will pick up where the first season’s nail-biting finale left off, with Owen and Max (Laura Haddock) captured by an unlikely enemy and in the throes of torture.

Centineo is returning for The Recruit Season 2 to star in and executive produce the series. He’s thrilled to continue living Owen’s harrowing lifestyle as a CIA lawyer who’s in over his head as government conspiracies continue to haunt his every move. “I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we are thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season. I’m looking forward to seeing what Alexi Hawley has in store for us all.”

Speaking with Tudum.com about getting ready for another season of The Recruit, Hawley said, “I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit. Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s turn as Owen has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to ‘”‘ 11′”‘ in Season Two.”

Hawley created and showruns The Recruit. He also serves as an executive producer alongside Centineo. Fivel Stewart, Vondie Curtis Hall, Kristian Bruun, Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, and Daniel Quincy Annoh also starred in Season 1. The original batch of episodes finds Owen tangled in Max’s intricate web of lies and deceit. Max is a complicated asset with extensive knowledge of government secrets. If the CIA doesn’t want some of their darkest secrets exposed, they’ll do everything they can to keep Max alive until she becomes a double agent.

Everything is coming up Milhouse! I burned through the first season of The Recruit and cannot wait to watch The Recruit Season 2. Are you looking forward to another season of Centineo’s government conspiracy drama? Please sound off in the comments and let us know.
