Here's some interesting news regarding the "Rogue Cut" of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST that fans are waiting for. Last we heard, the new cut of the film featuring some scenes with Anna Paquin's Rogue would be arriving in 2015. While that's still the case (although an exact date hasn't been ironed out yet), this new cut may vary more than anticipated. We had heard that about 10 or so minutes would be put back into the film, but the vice president of marketing communications for Fox Entertainment, James Finn, answered a few queries regarding this new cut, and hints that the changes offer a very different viewing experience.

Now, I'm not too sure about the Rogue Cut being its own distinct film and whatnot, but what I do appreciate is the fact that none of the content on the current Blu-ray release will be recycled. Personally, I was holding out for the Rogue Cut before I made a purchase, but now I can scoop of FUTURE PAST at will without having to worry about double dipping once that latest cut comes out next year. I'd love to see more franchise films taking advantage of extended cuts by the time they drop on Blu. The likes of LORD OF THE RINGS and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN proved that extended cuts can enrich the film and provide a better overall product. At the very least, give us the option!

The Rogue Cut of X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will hit Blu-ray/DVD sometime in 2015.
