XLrator Media has acquired North American distribution rights to the sci-fi action-thriller THE SCRIBBLER, starring Katie Cassidy (Arrow), Michelle Trachtenberg (Gossip Girl), Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse), Gina Gershon (Bound), Sasha Grey, Garret Dillahunt (Winter’s Bone, The Road), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Billy Campbell (The Killing).

The film from New Artists Alliance is directed by John Suits and written by Daniel Schaffer, who also penned and illustrated the original 2006 graphic novel on which the film is based. The film is produced by NAA’s Gabriel Cowan and Ken F. Levin of NightSky Productions and is executive produced by Kerry Johnson as well as Dallas Sonnier and Jack Heller of Caliber Media.

THE SCRIBBLER follows Suki (Katie Cassidy), a young woman confronting her destructive mental illness using “The Siamese Burn,” an experimental machine designed to eliminate multiple personalities. The closer Suki comes to being “cured,” she’s haunted by a thought… what if the last unwanted identity turns out to be her?

XLrator Media will release the film in theaters in Fall 2014.
