This weekend's slate of films hasn't even tallied up its box office yet, but it's already earning big dividends for the filmmakers involved. Roland Emmerich has already sold a script rebounding from INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE, and now the Blake Lively shark pic THE SHALLOWS is earning screenwriter Anthony Jaswinski some cred.

Jaswinski's haunted ship script MARY has just been acquired by Tooley Productions, so he ain't done with aquatic horror.

MARY is:

a supernatural thriller in which a struggling family buys an old ship at auction with high hopes of starting a charter business, only to discover her horrifying secrets on the isolated open waters.

The "haunted vessel" genre isn't exactly teeming with stellar entries (GHOST SHIP… maybe EVENT HORIZON?), so this could certainly be an exciting prospect with the right crew attached.

More details as the film gets further into development!
