The Sinner season 4 will be the end of the Bill Pullman series

The Sinner, season 4, Bill Pullman, cancelled

I don’t know if there are any other fans of USA Network’s The Sinner out there but I’ve definitely been on board with the mystery series from day one. Each season of the series revolves around Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he uncovers the complexities behind seemingly normal cases. The Sinner is currently in the midst of its fourth season, but USA Network announced today that season 4 will be its last.

In a statement, The Sinner creator Derek Simonds said, “It’s been a huge pleasure and a privilege to be able to tell the kind of stories we have on The Sinner these past four seasons. UCP and USA have been ideal partners and continually supportive of our creative goals, and I’m so pleased to complete Harry Ambrose’s dramatic series-long arc as we intended in this final season. A huge thank you to my partner-in-crime, Bill Pullman, and to the talented actors, writers, directors, and crew who gave their all to help realize this show. It’s been an incredible journey. The Sinner season 4 will now come to an end on December 1st with an extended series finale. You’ll be missed, Detective Ambrose.

Here’s the logline for The Sinner season 4: “Still reeling from the trauma of a previous case a year ago, the now-retired Harry Ambrose travels to Hanover Island in northern Maine for a recuperative getaway with his partner, Sonya (Jessica Hecht). When an unexpected tragedy occurs involving the daughter of a prominent island family, Ambrose is recruited to help the investigation, only to be thrown into a mystery of mounting paranoia that will turn this sleepy tourist island, and Ambrose’s life, upside down.” USA Network used to be the home of shows such as Monk, White Collar, Mr. Robot, Suits, Psych, and more, but with The Sinner coming to an end, this leaves the network without any original scripted series, not counting Chucky and a possible third season of Dirty John. It’s possible that the upcoming Nash Bridges movie could spawn a full-on revival, but we’ll have to wait and see.
