I've been a huge fan of The Sinner since the very beginning, so I'm thrilled to learn that USA Network has elected to renew the crime anthology series for a fourth season. As The Sinner has never exactly been a powerhouse in the ratings department, this is very welcome news. The series revolves around Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he uncovers the complexities behind seemingly normal cases.

The fourth season of The Sinner is expected to premiere in 2021, with Derek Simonds once again returning as showrunner and executive producer. "The Sinner has struck a chord with audiences with its signature ‘whydunnit’ style," said Chris McCumber, President, USA Network & SYFY. "In Season 4, we’re excited to dig even deeper into the psyche of Bill Pullman’s beloved Detective Ambrose character, while introducing our audience to a compelling, completely new mystery." The third season of The Sinner definitely pushed Detective Ambrose further than he ever had before, so I'm excited to discover where we find his character in the new season. No word yet on who will be starring alongside Pullman in the fourth season.

The first season of The Sinner found Jessica Biel (Limetown) starring alongside Bill Pullman as Cora Tannetti, a young mother who brutally kills a man in public while at the beach with her family. As she seems to have no idea why she did it, Detective Ambrose investigates Cora's past in order to discover the truth. Season two starred Carrie Coon (The Leftovers) as Vera Walker, the leader of a utopian commune, and saw Detective Ambrose pulled back to his hometown when an young boy poisons and murders his parents with no apparent motive, but Ambrose soon realizes that there's nothing ordinary about the boy or where he came from. The third season starred Matt Bomer (Doom Patrol) as Jamie, a seemingly upstanding resident of Dorchester who finds himself investigated by Detective Ambrose following a tragic car accident. Any fellow Sinner fans out there excited for another season?
