The third trailer for The Lego Movie gets the Man of Steel treatment

I am really excited to see THE LEGO MOVIE. At first, the idea of a movie about LEGOs seemed a little redundant with all of the LEGO themed cartoons and products we have been bombarded with over the last decade. Every marketing tie-in known to man took the identity away from LEGO and made it about comic book characters or movie themed toy sets. But, since the debut of the first trailer for THE LEGO MOVIE, it looks like the creative team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller has given us an original property that embraces the tie-ins as well as giving us original characters.

Much like THE MUPPETS did with their themed trailers, this third and final trailer for THE LEGO MOVIE imitates the epic scope of Zack Snyder‘s MAN OF STEEL. Using the score and similar title cards, this trailer presents main character Emmett (Chris Pratt) as the “Man of Plastic” who the world needs.

An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together.

Will Arnett looks like he is going to steal this movie with his turn as LEGO Batman. His lines are delivered perfectly and I chuckle every time he is on screen. Hopefully the full movie is as hilarious as the trailers have been.

THE LEGO MOVIE hits theaters on February 7th.
