Not to be confused with the musical INTO THE WOODS, INTO THE FOREST takes place in the not too distant future where two young women who live in a remote ancient forest discover the world around them is on the brink of an apocalypse. Informed only by rumor, they fight intruders, disease, loneliness & starvation as they try to survive. Check out the trailer below!
Science-fiction makes way for some great character pieces, and INTO THE FOREST looks like it could explore some really interesting territory, especially given that the film follows two sisters. I can't say that I'm familiar with director Patricia Rozema's (KIT KITTREDGE: AN AMERICAN GIRL, MANSFIELD PARK) work, but I think she may have crafted a really emotional journey in INTO THE FOREST.
