The Witcher Season 2 images tease Freya Allan’s new look as Ciri

The Witcher, Netflix, Season 2, Freya Allan, Ciri, Henry Cavill

After unveiling two first-look photos of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia for Netflix's upcoming season of The Witcher, images of Freya Allan as Princess Cirilla have arrived to cast a spell on fans. In the new photos, we find Allan's Ciri in training and "preparing to fight" for her survival amidst a harsh world made up of magic and monsters.

In addition to the photos, Netflix also dropped a fresh synopsis for the upcoming season:

Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.

Production for The Witcher Season 2 is expected to wrap in early 2021 after needing to be shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak. Be that as it may, Netflix has been more than eager to share materials leading up to the release of the show's sophomore season, knowing full well that fans will devour any info the streamer can dish out.

You can check out the new photos of Ciri below:

As you can see from the images posted above, Ciri has undergone much change since the close of Season 1. No longer frightened of the treachery that lies ahead, she's more than willing to lift a sword while training in the area of Kaer Morhen. Also, would you get a load of that scowl? She looks to be quite vexed about having to do battle with the forces of evil and I would not want to find myself at the end of her patience. I pray for those who encounter her wrath in the upcoming season. Unless you're a creature of darkness, of course. If that's the case, good luck to you.

When The Witcher returns to Netflix, Cavill and Allan will be joined by cast members Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Joey Batey as Jaskier, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Tom Canton as Filavandrel, Lilly Cooper as Murta, Jeremy Crawford as Yarpen Zigrin, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz, Terrence Maynard as Artorius, Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla Vigo, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, and Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina.

In addition to the return of Netflix's live-action series, The Witcher also has prequel spinoff series in development, as well as an animated film following Geralt's mentor Vesemir.
