Big news, “X-Files” fans. Fox TV is reportedly considering bringing back the iconic sci-fi series in one form or another. Don’t go nuts, just yet; these are very preliminary talks.

Per Deadline, “Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman today confirmed chatter that the network is in talks for a new installment of Chris Carter’s cult supernatural drama, which starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Newman went on to say he was “hopeful” about the outcome. Carter hinted at a possible reboot in the summer, acknowledging he had had conversations with Fox and 20th Century Fox TV, the studio behind X-Files.”

That’s all we’ve got at the moment. No word on whether or not this reboot would involve new characters, or bring back Mulder and Scully, but I’d like to think the network wouldn’t even begin to consider the former. There is no “X-Files” without Mulder and Scully.
