The RZA, of Wu-Tang Clan fame, is currently in the midst of realizing “a life-long dream” through THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, a tale that “mixes kung fu with a spaghetti Western mindset and a hip hop influence.” The movie deals with the story of a blacksmith in feudal China who must put aside his hammer and tongs and take up his fists (and presumably plenty lenty of other weapons) to defend his village from Russell F***ing Crowe.
My excitement for this project has been at a steady simmer for months now, knowing that Crowe is going to make an absolutely kick-ass villain and that the combination of RZA’s love for kung fu films with his experience on the set of KILL BILL means that the final product will be a truly unique and action-packed experience (if nothing else).
A trailer is set to drop in two days time, but until then RZA has released this explosive picture via twitter. And damn does it look great. I’m glad the trailer is coming so soon, because I want more!
