Marvel‘s Thor: Love and Thunder just touched down in theaters, and it’s already making enough money to please the gods. According to analysts, Thor: Love and Thunder amassed $15.7 million on opening day at the international box office. The film is currently playing in 17 markets, including Germany, Italy, Australia, and Korea.

Tickets to witness Thor’s latest adventure are going faster than Aunt May’s delicious wheat cakes during finals week, with sales pacing 39% ahead of Thor: Ragnarok, which hammered home $130 million during its opening weekend. Thor: Love and Thunder currently trails behind Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness by 24%, after the long-awaited sequel starring Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme collected an impressive $265 million at the international box office during its opening weekend.

Analysts predict Thor: Love and Thunder will earn $145 million to $155 million in North America and an additional $140 million to $150 million from international ticket sales. It’s also worth noting that Marvel’s latest feature is not playing in China, Russia, or France, which is bound to affect its overall box office performance.

Here’s the official synopsis for Thor: Love and Thunder:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
