Three Thousand Years of Longing: Poster for George Miller’s latest drops ahead of trailer on Friday

Three thousand years of longing, poster, movie poster, George Miller

We received a short teaser trailer yesterday for George Miller’s latest directorial effort, Three Thousand Years of Longing, and now we have received the official poster art for the film, via Bloody Disgusting, in preparation for its full trailer release on Friday.

Per the film’s official synopsis, “Dr Alithea Binnie (Tilda Swinton) is an academic – content with life and a creature of reason. While in Istanbul attending a conference, she happens to encounter a Djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom. This presents two problems. First, she doubts that he is real and second, because she is a scholar of story and mythology, she knows all the cautionary tales of wishes gone wrong. The Djinn pleads his case by telling her fantastical stories of his past. Eventually, she is beguiled and makes a wish that surprises them both.” The film also stars Kaan Guldur, Alyla Browne, and Angie Tricker. You can check out the official key art below!

The teaser that was released yesterday makes this look like a mix of fantasy, with some truly bizarre imagery, mythology, and everything in between. The film is an adaptation of the short story “The Djinn in the Nightingale’s Eye” by A.S. Byatt and it will be making the rounds at the Cannes Film Festival. Also, since it was acquired by MGM, this will be its first film to premiere at the festival following the closure of its merger with Amazon back in March.

Do YOU like the poster? Are YOU ready for the full trailer tomorrow?
